The First

Over the last few months I've been working closely with a new band called First Congress, led by Tom Van Can, creating their visual look and feel, including artworks, a logo and animation. Their debut single 'The First', a love song about a relationship between two women, has made it to the Radio 2 playlist and gets officially released in a couple of weeks so it's great to put some of that work out there. Here's the watery cover illustration for The First, featuring the logo design, and a lyric video for the new release. You can see the artwork on my site here and on the official site here. More First Congress artwork coming soon.

Alien Trees, Termite Cities and Portable X-Rays

Cripes, it's 2016! Seems like we're already in the future so to start the year here's the latest batch of monthly sci-fi illustrations for BBC Focus' appropriately titled column Into The Future by Stephen Baxter. First up is a look at how trees might grow extremely tall on alien worlds should there be weaker gravity. The future of cities was also contemplated with this imagining of a metropolis based on termite mounds with their natural ventilation. Finally, a look at how astronauts might be able to effectively treat themselves medically on long distance journeys with portable x-ray devices. You can see all the work for the column on the site here.
