Here's a recent cover illustration for a BBC Focus issue on the science breakthroughs of 2015. Also posted here is the last illustration for the Into The Future column which has come to an end with a magazine redesign or 2016. It's for a piece on elegance in space travel design. It was a really enjoyable regular commission to have and the full set can be seen on the site here.
Thought it was time to whip out the trusty old brush pen and delve back into the sketchbook for the first time in a while. It was fun. This was yesterday's mindset.
Here's a new flyer/poster design for a couple of friend's dj slot, Second Hand Sundays, at the wonderful co-operatively run pub, The Ivy House, in Nunhead, south-east London. The image sprouted out of the suggested idea of the groove in a record being a beautiful valley and I worked in the two intrepid dj/ramblers charting a musical course through it. The night starts this Sunday and details can be found at London Blues Night.
Here's a new illustration and animation for Bristol's music education hub Bristol Plays Music. The brief was to create an energetic image for web and print that represented Bristol's youth culture and the hub as an exciting platform for musical expression. The animation brings on all the figures and elements to resolve the finished illustration on their website, lovingly designed by my old buddy Graeme Swinton.
